Michal Ufniak wedding photographer

Hello!

I’m a Sheffield wedding photographer

Hi, I’m Michal. I’m a professional wedding photographer and I’ve been taking snaps since I remember. I specialise in what is often described as documentary and natural wedding photography aiming to capture the day as it happens without too much fuss. I’d like to think my approach can be seen as natural and relaxed without too much unnecessary posing. When couples contact me they often tell me that they prefer not to spend too much time posing. They want me to capture lots of candid natural photos of all the key moments.

Thank you so much for spending your time to read about me and my work. Whether you need a wedding photographer in Sheffield,  South Yorkshire, or anywhere in the UK, I would be honored to turn your wedding day into a beautiful story.

Working as a wedding photographer in Sheffield, Yorkshire and beyond for over a decade, has given me the opportunity to meet some amazing couples. Please scroll down to view my recent work or visit my blog section to see some of the stories and engagements I photographed.

Documentary Wedding Photography in Sheffield and South Yorkshire

I take images as the day unfolds blending in as one of your guests naturally documenting you and your guests having the best time of their lives. My goal is to create authentic and comprehensive stories full of emotions starting from your morning preparations till the late night party. Of course I also take the group shots as well as couples portraits but I always try to keep these sessions short and informal so it doesn’t feel like all you’ve been doing is photos. Your wedding will be one of those memories you will remember for the rest of your lives. You will want to remember the laughter, the tears and all the beautiful moments, not necessarily having to pose most of the time.

I specialise in beautifully expressive, contemporary reportage and fine art wedding photography, captured unobtrusively in order to tell the story of your wedding day. I combine the use of natural light documentary photography with editorial style professionally lit images, telling your wedding story in a unique and heartfelt manner.

From the moments of getting ready and putting your dress on, to your first dance, late night party and the magical sparkler exit, you and your fiance want to feel relaxed and natural. Your wedding photographer should not take this feeling away from you, quite the opposite, they are there to make sure that in front of the camera you are being yourself. This is the key to giving you these beautiful photos you have been dreaming about when planning this day.

As a wedding photographer I aim to provide an experience when you and your fiancé will feel comfortable, relaxed and natural in front of my camera. I don’t believe in too much posing and I, like many of my couples, don’t like to have my photos taken. It’s perfectly normal. I keep the portrait sessions to a minimum and I will still give you those epic wedding photos without making it awkward.

Getting married in Sheffield and Yorkshire

I love nothing more than documenting your special day. Whether it’s a church, civil or a same sex wedding, Sheffield is open, vibrant and colourful. From magnificent stately homes to wedding barns and modern industrial wedding venues in Sheffield, everyone can find their place. Weddings are always great fun. How formal or informal they are is entirely up you. It’s your day and you can spend it the way you want. If you want to get married in a picture house, I’ll be there. If you opt for an intimate outdoor ceremony in the peaks, I’ll go hiking with you.

Where do I work

I primarily photograph weddings in Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Leeds, York and throughout Yorkshire. I also travel as far as Edinburgh and Isle of Mull in Scotland and I am available for destination weddings all over the globe. Miles won’t stop me from documenting your marriage ceremony. Whether it’s The Peak District or The Hebrides, I’ll tell your story regardless the place. If you are getting married then I would love to create a beautiful story that is unique to you and supply you with timeless imagery.

What equipment does a wedding photographer use?

I’ve always been using professional Nikon equipment. Since the very beginning when I hold a DSLR camera in my hand I’ve been using this one of the leading brands in the digital photographic industry. I have three camera bodies and multiple lenses in my bag, not to mention other necessary pieces of equipment such as flash guns or remote triggers and a tonne of batteries and memory cards. For most of the day you will see me carrying two cameras with lenses attached. One always stays in the bag in case one of the main guys fails although this never happened. A good wedding photographer is always prepared. The lenses are quality prime optics that allow me to work in low light conditions such as churches and some reception venues without the need to use flash. This is all to make sure all the important moments of your wedding are captured.
