Engagement photography

Have you recently got engaged? Congratulations! If you’re thinking engagement photography session then it’s a great way to celebrate it.

You will receive a set of edited images and you can use them however you like. Frame them, print on your wedding stationery, use them on your wedding website, you can really do whatever you want with them. Beside this you will have a set of beautiful photos to go back to some years later.

In the meantime here are some examples of how you can use your engagement images:

  • save the date cards
  • your wedding blog / website
  • signing frame
  • wedding invitations
  • photo memory board
  • wedding day slideshow

Engagement shoots also give you the opportunity to spend some time in front of a camera and get used to someone taking lots of photos of you. It won’t feel that strange anymore when you have your wedding photographer with you when the big day comes. If you’ve already hired me to be your photographer then we’ll get to spend some time together and you’ll see me at work.

Engagement photography prices

Engagement photography shoot – £200.

These would typically last approximately 1-2 hours at a location you chose. You will get all the edited images ( about 100 photos)

Engagement photography mini shoot – £100

These mini shoots last about 30-45 mins and are ideal for those couples who just want a ‘few photos’ to share . Having said this, we will still get a decent amount of photos taken within this time. You will get about 50 edited images from this shoot.

In both cases all edited photos will be delivered as jpg files in a private online gallery where you can download individual images as well as the whole gallery. They are also super easy to share with family and friends. All images will come with printing rights and with no watermarks so you can print as many as you like.

Why to have your engagement photos taken?

I know you are probably wondering why bother with engagement photos? Isn’t that just showing off? Who wants to see pictures you staring gooey-eyed at each other whilst placing the ring finger in an oh-so-obvious position? Engagement photography doesn’t have to be like this however and there are some very good reasons to have an engagement photo session before your wedding.

It’s just as important that your wedding photographer gets to know you, your personalities, your quirks and your preferences. Some couples are prepared to be more daring and inject a sense of fun into their wedding photography whilst others would much prefer a dreamier, more fairy tale look. Once the wedding photographer gets to know you they can suggest styles they think you would like and take into consideration your personalities so that when it really matters, on your big day, they capture the very essence of you as a couple.

On your wedding day there is so much happening around you that you might not be aware of the photographer half the time and that’s as it should be, which is why it’s so fun to get engagement photographs done. You are much more relaxed, you aren’t surrounded by family and friends and you don’t have any time constraints or pressures.

These moments allow the photographer to capture the chemistry between you and your partner. An engagement photography session needn’t be in a studio, it can be taken in the place you both met or somewhere that means something to you both. It can be creative, artistic and lots of fun. You don’t have to stand and pose if you don’t want to, you are in ultimately in charge and once you see the engagement photographs you will feel a lot better about your wedding photos.
