I blend into what is happening around me and look for genuine reactions, interesting light and the little moments you may not notice at the time.
That might be a parent taking a quiet breath before the ceremony, friends laughing during the drinks reception or the way your partner looks at you when they think nobody else is watching.

When we take couple photographs, I will give you enough direction to help you feel comfortable without forcing you into stiff or unnatural positions.
Usually, that means taking a walk, chatting, laughing and giving you enough space to be yourselves.

The best way to show you what your photographs could feel like is through a real wedding rather than a list of promises.
I have already had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Glengorm Castle on the Isle of Mull. The location offered everything you might hope for from a Scottish island celebration: dramatic surroundings, beautiful grounds and plenty of space for the day to unfold naturally.
More importantly, the photographs are not only about the venue. They show the people, emotions and atmosphere that made the celebration personal.
The castle and island landscape provide the setting, but the couple and their guests remain at the heart of the story. That balance is important to me.
We can use a few natural opportunities throughout the day for portraits—a quiet walk after the ceremony, ten minutes during the drinks reception or a quick step outside when the light becomes softer.

This depends on the location and package. Once I know where and when you are getting married, I will explain any additional travel, ferry or accommodation requirements clearly before you book.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
We adjust the plan. Rain rarely stays at exactly the same intensity all day, particularly on the West Coast. We can use sheltered areas, photograph indoors and step outside when the weather gives us an opportunity.
How long do we need for couple photographs?
You do not need to disappear for hours. A relaxed portrait session can often be completed in a short amount of time. We may also use two or three brief opportunities during the day rather than scheduling one long photoshoot.
Can you help us plan the photography timeline?
Yes. I can help you think about ceremony timings, family photographs, couple portraits, travel between locations and the best opportunities for natural light. For island weddings, we can also allow some flexibility around ferries and weather.
How far in advance should we book?
Popular weekend dates can be booked well in advance, especially during the main wedding season. It is worth getting in touch once your venue and date are confirmed, but there is no pressure to book simply because you have asked about availability.
