Intimate wedding in Doncaster - Paul & Donni
I am so lucky. As a photographer I get to work with couples from around Europe. Donni and Paul first met some years ago in Bulgaria. After a few years of working together in the Balkan property industry the couple decided to move to Doncaster where they now settled and got married!
It was an intimate wedding with a handful of close friends and family members with some coming from as far as Bulgaria!

An intimate wedding in Doncaster
I love shooting intimate weddings. The ones where only a small number of close friends and family members are involved. No rushing around with my camera, no posing stiffly, just hanging out and creating photo memories. Is that what you’re looking for? The size of the wedding doesn't matter, though. When it is your own wedding, it just feels like it should be perfect no matter how many people are present.
Wedding portraits in the park
To make their day even more memorable, we went to Elmfield Park for some romantic photographs taken by the fountain and with the willow trees. They were so wrapped up in each other's arms that I didn't have to ask them to pose, just kept shooting.
Despite being an intimate affair with only family and close friends in attendance, all of whom they love dearly, it is clear they had an unforgettable wedding in Doncaster. They couldn't have been happier that day. The day was incredibly special for them and it was about celebrating their love together.

Dionne & Stewart - Epworth wedding photography
One beautiful May day in a small town of Epworth in North Lincolnshire a group of close friends and family members gathered at a local church for the wedding of Dionne and Stewart.
That day the people of this historic town in the Isle of Axholme saw Dionne and Stewart exchanging their vows at the local Wesley Memorial Methodist Church.
Dionne arrived at the church in a classic 1950’s Rolls Royce and walked down the aisle to join Stewart that had been waiting there with his best man. After a beautiful and relaxed wedding ceremony the newly married couple signed the marriage register before leaving the church escorted by the cute Casey.
Outside the church the newlyweds were welcomed with handfuls of colourful confetti and after a series of family and group photos everyone went to The Red Lion where the wedding party began!

Engagement photography at Sheffield Botanical Gardens
One glorious morning I met Nicola and Jeremy at Sheffield Botanical Gardens ahead of their wedding at Wortley Hall next year. As we chose the gardens for our initial meeting this also seemed an excellent place for an engagement photography session! Situated just off Ecclesall Road this beautiful place in Sheffield attracts quite a lot of couples. It was a usual day and it was no different that morning but despite a number of visitors and direct harsh sunlight we coped rather well.

From the very first frame this lovely couple of students seemed very relaxed in front of the camera which made my job even easier. We took some images while walking around and having fun in the gardens and then ‘escaped’ into the glass pavilions for some window lit portraits where wooden window frames provided us with some cool shadows! As a local wedding photographer in Sheffield I always enjoy shooting here and it’s a gorgeous place for a pre wedding shoot.

Maja & Marcin's Doncaster night time engagement session
Last week I was awarded the opportunity to help celebrate Maja and Marcin's engagement. Originally from Alexandria, Virginia but living in Manhattan, Maja only came to Doncaster for few days to meet her fiancée Marcin who actually comes from Szczecin, Poland but temporarily lives in South Yorkshire. No, it's not that straight forward! The couple first met in Szczecin when Maja and her sister went to Poland for Thanksgiving and from that moment it was obvious that no air miles would stop the two!
Night time engagement photography shoot in Doncaster
We met on a chilly January evening for their photoshoot for engagement in Doncaster ahead of their wedding later on this year and we had this idea of a night time engagement shoot to capture the magic of all of the street lights and shop signs.
To start with we went to the Church View area of Doncaster behind the old Tesco where an old rusty bridge takes you to a car park with a magnificent view over St Georges Minster, Doncaster College and some narrowboats. We could not resist taking few engagement pictures with Doncaster skyline at night.
Properly chilled we went to grab a cuppa before we headed to Mercure Hotel in Doncaster town centre. It was where Marcin had actually proposed to Maja during her previous stay in South Yorkshire so it went without saying that we stop by and take some images with the former Danum Hotel.
Finally we went to meet the Lovers in Waterdale and ended this productive afternoon with some moody pictures using shop shutters as our backdrop.
We could'n help giving this beautiful engagement ring some attention. You have to say Marcin has a good taste!
Living in New York Maja couldn't resist having some photos taken with a nearby red telephone booth and a South Yorkshire Police van parked just behind. The novelty of being a tourist in Doncaster!
Being this late we knew that Cast theatre in Sir Nigel Gresley Square would provide us with some nice illuminations and this combined with low shutter speed and a kiss of flash gave us some nice effects.
